CuJo is hanging up his goalie mask on Tuesday when he makes the announcement official at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. Curtis Joseph can look back and know that he had an incredible career.
Joseph currently is the fourth most winningest goaltender in NHL history with 454 wins behind Martin Brodeur, Patrick Roy and Ed Belfour. He played in 958 regular season games and was trusted between the pipe for 133 playoff matches.
In 19 seasons, he played with the St. Louis Blues, Edmonton Oilers, Detroit Red Wings, Phoenix Coyotes, Calgary Flames and Toronto Maple Leafs.
His decision to leave the NHL comes after he was displaced as the backup for Toronto’s Vesa Toskala with the formidable Jonas Gustavsson.
